WELCOME!: I am grateful you took the time to discover me. When I am not out playing soccer, enjoying nature, reading historical fiction, or composing music, you will likely find me in my studio. This is where the real adventure begins. This website contains just a sample of what I do. Feel free to contact me if you want your project or idea to become one of the exciting works occuring in my studio.
VISION : Growing up in Chicago gave me a deep appreciation of public art, not only due to the monuments, fountains, and statuary, but also the profusion of architectural ornamentation on the best buildings. Currently living in the Twin Cities, I see my role as an artist as a vessel through which, by meditation on the Divine and self-mastery of technique, I am able to bring forth works expressing the profound beauty, purity, love and joy of the sacred realm of spirit and of that spirit manifest through humanity and nature. I hope to leave a trail of visual enrichment just as we have been inspired by great artists of the past. The training and background I bring to each project provides the skills, tools and confidence to work at a very high standard with a broad range of media. Over the last twenty-five years this has included architectural design and construction management, bronze and marble sculpture, fountains, wood carving, oil and watercolor portraiture and landscapes, etching and mural painting.
ASPIRATION: Continuing patronage and opportunities you provide will enable me to create more works enjoyed by many, serving also as a counterweight to the negative messages in much of what passes for today’s popular culture. We need to be reminded that our visual environment and cultural expression need not self-destruct. We can choose instead to nourish the divine seed within us and let it blossom and flower into expressions of truth and beauty which are the foundations of a golden age. I believe that art best serves the forward progress of its age when it recognizes and pays tribute to the highest thoughts, feelings, and ideas of which all are capable. That is why I am dedicated to expressing such aspects through art.
MUSIC: Regarding music, back in 1998 I created some original music for listening to while at work. I actually listen to a lot of Mahler, Liszt, Wagner, Vaughn-Willliams, and Celtic music, play the harp that I made in the photo, along with drums and keyboards. My cd is called AT HOME IN AN EXPANDING UNIVERSE. I call this visual music because it encourages visualization and inspiration. Just the thing for an artist! There is 54 minutes of music in a variety of expressions, but I especially like the 19 minute piece called “Tone Poem No. 1: A Journey of Twin Flames”. The official printings have sold out, but if you would like to send me $10 I will provide a less glamorously packaged but hand-signed copy for your enjoyment!
